This calculator computes a radio coverage footprint and colours it according to the basic transmission loss - the dB path loss between isotropic antennas.
It has been developed using our RadioObjX and MapObjX software components. Contact us if you would like to construct an application, portal or site using such components.
To produce the coverage plot, the RadioObjX algorithm computes the transmission loss between the central transmitter and a receiver at each terrain point. The transmission loss is reported in dBi and the scale is automatically coloured. A key is given to help interpretation.

The coverage is constructed using a terrain model derived from data from the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission data. Click here for details on this.
To use this calculator, select ‘geography’ and ‘add to basket’. Then either Register or Login and go to View Basket, Checkout and then consume the products from the My Products page.
