As the recognised market leader in our field, our name is synonymous with mapping expertise. We offer a wide range of internationally renowned products for both business and leisure – from complex digital information to traditional walking maps for Great Britain.

At the heart of our organisation is a vision that, together with our partners, we will be the content provider of choice for location-based information in the new information economy."

ATDI is an Ordnance Survey Licensed Partner.

The digital terrain model used within this product is at a resolution of either 50metres or 200 metres and is derived from the Ordnance Survey Land-Form PANORAMA DTM.  ATDI Online makes use of both resolutions. The 200 metre data is used with the 1:625,000 raster image and the 50 metre DTM with the 1:250,000 raster image - see below.

The OS User Guide for this product comments that:

Ordnance Survey’s Land-Form PANORAMA data is a dataset representing the physical shape of the real world.

The data is available to customers as:

  • Land-Form PANORAMA contour tiles, which includes contours, spot heights, breakline, coastline, lakes, and ridge and form lines.
  • Land-Form PANORAMA digital terrain model (DTM) tiles - a 50 m grid of height points derived from the contour product."

This User Guide is available at this external link .

The resulting coverage plot is output with a back drop of either an Ordnance Survey 1:625,000 colour raster map image or an OS 1:250,000 raster map image.  Further details of the 1:250,000 product is available at the following external link.

ATDI is able to consider the effects of vegetation and urbanisation on signal propagation using the OS Strategi product.  Population data is also available for use in analysis along with data on roads and railways.  These additional data sets are not available via ATDI Online.  Please call us for further information of the type of analysis and projects possible using our desktop applications for planning and modelling.
